Good morning, boys and girls. My name is Anastasia Romanovna and I’m glad to be your English teacher today. I hope that everybody is ready to work. Sit down, please! How are you today? As I’ve said earlier, my name is Anastasia Romanovna. And I like to learn and to teach English very much. And what do you like doing in your free time? Дети отвечают, что любят делать в свое свободное время.

Why do you go to school/go in for football and so on? -> You want to be successful. I hope that you will learn something interesting today and succeed at our lesson.

Look through your worksheets and find exercise 1. Can you look through the words and find the odd one?

Дети отвечают – climate change. How can we translate this word? That’s right. Now let’s read some new words that will help us in the class. Match the words with their definition. Work in pairs please.

Great! Now I believe you can try to guess the theme of our lesson. So what do these words have in common?

Дети отвечают All these words are connected with global warming / ecological problems/ greenhouse effect. So the theme of our lesson is Дети продолжают…Здесь я включаю слайд greenhouse effect и она становится нашей темой. We are going to talk about the causes, consequences and solutions of greenhouse effect (перевернуть все подписи; может сразу их оставить?)

Now I want to talk about the aim of our lesson. Дети дают варианты (to learn more about greenhouse effect and to make a statement about the greenhouse effect)- показать им через плакат

Today I want you to know more about some problems of our planet. Do know what is greenhouse effect? Дети отвечают.
I’d like you to read the text in the ex.3 and tell me what this text is about.
Читают и отвечают на вопрос. What is greenhouse effect? (Дети отвечают, что такое парниковые эффект) Картинка парниковый эффект : Heat from the sun travels through the atmosphere with the help of the greenhouse gases and the Earth’s temperature rises.

Now I want the students from the first column to read the text about the greenhouse gases on the p.142. Your task is to read the text and answer the questions after the text. Students from the second column (назвать по именам) read the text from the ex 3 on the p 143. All of you will tell us about the causes of the greenhouse effect. Читают текст сами и отвечают на вопросы(3 вопроса: 1 ученик читает вопрос, 2 ученик отвечает на него) и now lets sum it up. What we have already discussed (could you put/stick it on the board?) – на доску прикрепляем/ Потом ребята со второго ряда отвечают про человеческий фактор. Why is the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increasing?

Now let’s find out what are the consequences of the global warming and greenhouse effect? (Читаем вслух предложения из упр.4 и определяем, являются ли они последствием или нет и на схеме обозначаем)

So, as you can see this problem is very important because it may lead to the disastrous consequences. Смотрим на слайде и отвечаем на вопрос Is it dangerous? Is it harmful? Do we have such a problem in the Komi Republic? -> We don’t have such problems like hurricanes, floods and droughts but it doesn’t mean that we should take care of our planet. This problem is global and the Komi Republic is the part of the world and we have to make our difference in this important and dangerous problem.
What can we do to help our nature?
Дети предлагают варианты. Great! You can be great ecologists! I have a video for you. This video was made by people who care about our planet. There are some tips for us that can help to save our planet.



Now lets summarize what we can do to help the environment? Заполняем 3 столбик walk to school instead of using a car, turn off the light when we don’t need it, turn off water, reuse and recycle. Лишнее – go to school by car What else we can do? и сюда уже идеи не из видео plant trees, solar energy, electro cars.

Now let’s sum all we’ve discussed up. And tell about greenhouse effect. There are some phrases in the ex.4 in your worksheet. Your task is to make up a statement about the greenhouse effect and tell it to your classmates. You are to use phrases in your worksheets and information in our chart.

One of you can start and talk us about the causes of greenhouse effect and the second person will tell us about the consequences and the solutions we can suggest.

As for your home task, I want you to make up the monologue according to the information that we’ve discussed today and some of you can find some more information on the Internet about the solutions how to help the earth and present it next lesson. So you can choose your hometask on your own: to make up your own monologue or to surf the Net to find more information. And I believe that Linar A. will be glad to discuss the greenhouse effect one more time.
