NATIONAL SYMBOLS OF THE COUNTRY WE LIVE IN.

THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

SYMBOLS of RUSSIA One of the most important symbols is the Russian national flag. It has three stripes: white, blue and red. These colours have always been symbolic in Russia: white –noble and sincere, blue –honest and devoted, red has always meant love and bravery. The coat of arms of Russia represent the double-headed eagle with  a sceptre in its right claw and an orb in its left claw. The National Anthem is also the symbol of the country. It is performed at official ceremonial events.

The capital of the country is Moscow. It was founded by Yuri Dolgoruky. It grew and very soon it became “a city, superior to all other cities of Russia”. Today its population is about 9000000 people.

Russia is the largest country of the world. It lies on a huge territory from the coast of the Pacific Ocean to the centre of Europe. Its climate is different.

Taishet is my hometown. Taishet was founded in 1897 as a supply point and station on the Trans-Siberian Railway and was granted town status in 1938.

The coast of arms of Taishet The green and silver field is broken into four by a narrow black cross. There is a green silver fir tree on the right side. The shield is topped with a crown of the established pattern.

The crown indicates that Taishet belongs to the status of an urban settlement, which is the administrative center of the Taishet district.
