It is located on the island of the same name (Liberty Island) at the entrance to the port of New York and New Jersey. The huge neoclassical copper monument has a height of 46 meters, but together with the pedestal it rises 93 meters above the ground. In the left hand, you can see a tablet with the inscription "JULY IV MDCCLXXVI" (4.07.1776) — the official date of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of America, and under one leg broken shackles. Its crown consists of 7 rays — the number of continents and seas. The sculpture, designed by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel, is a symbol of freedom and a gift from France to the United States to commemorate friendship between peoples. On October 15, 1924, the statue was declared a national monument, and in 1984 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
