It  is a holiday designed to draw people's attention to the problems that children face all over the planet. In Russia, it is traditionally celebrated on June 1. The purpose of the holiday is to remind people about the protection of the legitimate interests of every child.

There are many privileges for children in our country. For example, there are many free camps. Children are paid a certain amount of money before September 1 to prepare for school. Families with several children can receive maternity capital. Children have the right to free education in state schools and kindergartens. Children have the right to free medical care in state medical institutions. Children are often given discounts on public transport.

Being a child in Russia, like in any other country, can have its disadvantages. In some cases, the education system can be overburdened, stressful, and competitive. This can have a negative impact on children’s mental health. In remote or rural areas, there may be limited access to quality educational institutions, making it difficult to get a good education. Some children may face bullying, discrimination, or other forms of violence at school or in the community. Many children are overloaded with extracurricular activities and clubs, leaving little time for play and relaxation. In low-income families, children may face a lack of resources for full development, including access to cultural and sports activities. Children may suffer from family conflicts, parental divorce, or other problems in the family, which negatively affects their emotional well-being.

In our family this holiday is not usually celebrated. Parents just congratulate us verbally and sometimes give us some money.
