The university of Oxford

The University of Oxford (informally simply Oxford) located in Oxford, England. It has no known date of foundation, but there is evidence of teaching as far back as 1096, making it the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world's second-oldest university in continuous operation. It grew rapidly from 1167 when Henry II banned English students from attending the University of Paris. After disputes between students and Oxford townsfolk in 1209, some academics fled north-east to Cambridge where they established what became the University of Cambridge. The two "ancient universities" are frequently jointly referred to as "Oxbridge".

If you want to get into Oxford you need to: Training in Oxford passes in English, so foreign applicants must confirm their language skills by passing one of the international exams: - IELTS (academic) with a total score of 7.0 (and at least 7.0 for none of the four components); For admission to a number of specialties, you must pass special written tests: for example, to biomedical specialties, you must pass the BMAT (Biomedical Admissions Test), there are tests in the English literature (ELAT), by right (LNAT), Thinking Skills Assessment, Classics Admissions Test, Mathematics Admissions Test and others; The decision on whether or not a candidate is accepted is made in early January after reviewing written tests, personal interviews, school performance and estimated grades at the end of the course, personal motivation letter and academic recommendations;

And you need this documents: three references (letters of recommendation) official transcript(s) of previous university-level degrees CV/résumé statement of purpose and/or research proposal One or more of the following may also be required, depending on the course: academic written work portfolio (e.g. artwork, music recordings) GRE results mathematics admissions exercise evidence of proficiency in a language you need to know for the course, e.g. Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)

Cost of education The amount of tuition fees for foreign students is significantly higher than for UK and EU citizens. According to data for 2016, the cost of studying for one year for a bachelor is from 15,295 to 22,515 £ (depending on the specialty). There is also an additional fee of £ 7135. Get education at a reduced price will be those who have studied and lived in the UK for the past three years. Only scholarships and guarantors allow you to reduce the cost of training or get the education free of charge.

Why did I chose Oxford? Firstly, because it opens to you a lot of opportunities: this university has one of the biggest libraries, a lot of clubs, you can enjoy OUSU(Oxford University Student Union) and act as the voice for students in higher education policy debates. Secondly, Oxford’s education is one of the best in the world. Thirdly, I think it’s interesting to get education in other country – you‘ll be able to see how people live there, to know more interesting people... so, it’s kind of adventure!
