Presidents' Day Presidents' Day-US federal holiday, which is celebrated every third Monday in February. Dedicated to the office of the President of the United States of America. Traditionally, the holiday is timed to coincide with the birthday of George Washington. On this day, a lesson is held in American schools on the history of the presidents of the United States, especially Washington and Lincoln.
St. Patrick's Day March 17th is St. Patrick's Day in the United States-the patron saint of Ireland, who brought Christianity to this once pagan country. Saint Patrick has become so popular in the United States, where the Irish population is very large, that the day of his death is celebrated on a national scale. Most Americans refer to this holiday simply by its date, the Fourth of July. The holiday is accompanied by fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, politicians' addresses to the people and ceremonies, as well as other public and private events traditional for the United States. Independence Day is a national holiday in the United States.
