Урок в 11 классе.

Тема:"Inventions that shook the world".

Задачи:

Формировать лексические навыки говорения.

Формировать навыки аудирования, понимать речь на слух и понимать его содержание.

Развивать навыки спонтанной диалогической и монологической речи.

Расширить знания учащихся о современных изобретениях.

Провести защиту проекта по теме «Things that shook the world».

Оборудование: компьютеры, карточки с заданиями, презентация к уроку.

Ход урока:

1.Организационный момент.

Teacher: Good morning, boy and girls! I am glad to see you. Today we have an unusual lesson. You see, we are in the computer’s room, not in the English one. Secondly, we have guests at our lesson. I’m sure we all wish you good luck at discussing the point of our lesson

2.Объявление темы и целей урока.

Teacher: Dear friends! Look at the blackboard! Here is the motto of the lesson: “Man is still the most extraordinary thing of all”. (John Kennedy). Do you think we are going to talk about different inventions only? Of course not, about the man, his inventions and wonders. Yes, because the new inventions first of all were interpreted as wonders of science. The theme of our lesson is «Things that shook the world».Science is the most important to most people living in modern world.

What the most important inventions of the 19th and 20th century do you know?

Pupils: A car, a television, a vacuum cleaner, a computer, a mobile phone cloning etc.

We use some of these inventions every day.

3. Работа с лексическим материалом.

Teacher: I’ll give you the list of some modern inventions that used in everyday life. Your task is what these things are used for. You have to use –ing form.

For example: A mixer/ is for / to mix food. ---- A mixer is for mixing food.(Миксер для смешивания еды)

Are you clear? You will work in pairs. You have 2 minutes.

A telephone

A typewriter

A calculator

A talking alarm clock

A dishwasher

A microwave oven

to tell the time

to cut and collect the grass

to wash dishes

to take photographs

to receive and make calls

4. Обучение аудированию.

Now I’ll listen to some people talking about things they use. You will work in groups. Your task is answer the questions:

What things are the members of the family talking about? 2. Why do the members of the family like to have these things in the home?

Texts:

I really enjoy writing programs. It sounds difficult. But even an 11-year-old can write a simple program. One of my programs can play chess. It can beat me, but it can not beat my dad. He is an excellent chess player. (a computer)

They are magic. I also do roller-skating and ice-skating. But these are mixture of both. It is like ice-skating in the street. So fast! ( roller blades)

I think this is the most useful invention that I can imagine. I can take it anywhere I like. I have to keep in touch with my office whenever I travel. It is fantastic to be able to call them up as you are driving up the motorway. And they can even get in contact with me if they want!(A mobile telephone)

If we feel like eating a hot meal, I just get our favorite pre-prepared food and put it into the machine, set the dial and it is ready in minutes!(a microwave oven)

I am excited about this bit of technology. When I speak I cannot only hear but also see the other person! (a videophone)

5.Защита проекта

-The theme of our lesson is «Things that shook the world». In nowadays people don’t know how some things were appeared. In ancient time they were named seven things which were called wonders. Do you know why? (Because they didn’t know how these buildings had been built)

-Let’s remember how we start our project. We try to answer the questions what things shook he world. WE speak about

- Ancient wonders (слайд)

-- new7 wonders (слайд) When was the Declaration Ceremony? (It was on 07.07.07.)

--- at home you worked in groups and find you wonders in modern life. So now you have to made the last slide and prove you opinions. (учащиеся выступают с защитой своих современных чудес, которые потрясли мир)

* Во время пока пара из каждой группы доделывает слайды остальные отгадывают кроссворд.

Итог защиты проектов- Every centuries, every nations has its own wonders. Every person find his own wonders at home, in his family or outside, everywhere.

* We are at school and every lesson you surprise me with your answer. And now let’s remember the motto of our lesson: “Man is still the most extraordinary thing of all”. And try to prove it. You will work in pairs. Imagine you are in a shop.

the 1st Student –You want to bye some of the thing but you don’t speak English well. Explaine what you need.

the 2nd Student-You are a salesperson. Help the customer.
