Reported Questions WH-questions Direct Indirect Where does he live? He asks where he lives. Where do you live? He asked me where I lived. We introduce reported question-word questions with  ask + question word: Note that the reported question has no auxiliary "do". As with reported statements, we may need to change pronouns and tense as well as time in reported questions.

YES/NO questions We introduce reported YES/NO questions with ask + if: Direct Indirect Do you like coffee? She asks if I like coffee. Are you cold? She asked me if I was cold.
