Организационный момент.

T: Dear boys and girls. Today we shall play a game called “Happy Chance”. Two teams will take part in the game.

Каждый участник рассказывает о себе, капитан рассказывает о себе, называет название команды и хором девиз.

T: Now I am going to teach you how to play a game called “Happy Chance”

The game has 4 rounds; they are:

“Further and Further”

“Puzzles”

“A Dark Horse”

“The race after the leader”.

Each team gets one star for every well-done task. The team which gets the most stars wins.

The first round “Further and further”

T: And now we come to the first round of the game called “Further and further”.

“Scouts” it’s your turn to start.

1). The first task is to read the tongue twisters correctly.

a) If you Andy, have two candies, give one candy to Sandy, Andy.

b) I wonder, why my cousin doesn’t have a proper cup of coffee in a proper coffee cup.

c) Peter Piper picked a pack of pickled pepper,

“Eagles” the first task is for you:

I am from Great Britain. The country is famous for its traditions which have been kept for centuries; for its great writers: William Shakespeare, Danial Defore. In Great Britain people speak English.

I am from Brazil. The country is famous for its great football-players, and its tasty coffee. In Brazil people speak Portuguese.

I am from Russia. The country is famous for its beautiful nature, many museums and art galleries, beautiful churches. In Russia people speak Russian.

2). The second task is

English is the language of rock and pop music. Most of the world known singers sing their songs in English.

English is called the language of the sky and the sea. Every pilot and ship’s captain must speak English to communicate with each other.

English is the language of the great literature. It is the language of William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and others. If you know English well, you will be able to read books by English and American writers in the original.

№ 2 English is spoken practically all over the world that’s why it is necessary to learn English.

Most vocabulary in the modern computing is English. 80 % of all information in the world’s computers is in English.

US and British companies produce thousands of films, videos and TV programmes every year. They are shown all over the world with subtitles and dubbing.

Knowledge of English helps young people of different countries to understand each other, to develop friendship among them. If you know English, you may have a pen-friend abroad.

English is very important to find a good job. Most films and companies that deal with foreign clients take the people who can speak English. If you want to be a journalist, a pilot, a manager or a secretary at a big firm, you must learn English, the language of international communication.

Learning English is especially important nowadays. It’s spoken all over the world. Some people learn it because they like travelling. If you know English, you can go anywhere without being afraid that other people will not understand you.
