Essay
Charles Dickens is one of the greatest English writers of the 19th century, a master of realism and social satire. His works, including "David Copperfield", reflect the life of different segments of society, raising issues of injustice, poverty and morality. Dickens had a unique gift to create bright, memorable characters whose fates touch readers even centuries later.
One of the key characters of the novel - Wilkins Mikober - has many positive qualities. He is kind, charming and optimistic, despite constant financial difficulties. Mikober is sincerely attached to David, supports him and retains a sense of humor even in the most difficult situations. His famous phrase "Something will turn around" reflects faith in the best, which makes him a cute character.
However, Mikober also has serious shortcomings. His main weakness is irresponsibility in money matters. He constantly gets into debt, hoping for luck, but does not make real efforts to correct the situation. It causes suffering not only to him, but also to his family. His frivolity and inability to plan for the future cause irritation in others.
Despite the shortcomings, I treat Mikober with warmth. His kindness and love of life outweigh his weaknesses, and the ability to remain himself in any circumstances is respected. He is an example of how a person can be imperfect, but at the same time remain sweet and touching. Dickens masterfully shows that even comic characters can be deep and human.
