Novy Svet is a small village in the south-east of Crimea, a few kilometers from Sudak. It is located in a picturesque Green bay with a clean and warm sea. The New World is best known for its champagne factory and the Golitsyn Trail, a route along the sea to the grotto of the same name, where expensive wines used to be stored. This small resort park is considered a great place for those who love beautiful nature and relaxing holidays.
The History of the Novy Svet The coast of the bay and the surrounding area have been inhabited since antiquity. Traces of the presence of the legendary Taurus mountains, the ruins of the first Christian temples and a cave monastery, ceramics and quarries of the Middle Ages, the remains of port buildings were found here. In the XVIII century, the village on the shore was ceded to the Russian Empire and was presented by Catherine the Great to the French nobleman Barthelemy Gallera, who became its first owner and head of Feodosia. A remote deserted corner, which was once called Paradise, changed its owners three more times until Lev Golitsyn bought it out. The prince turned the estate in the "paradise place" into a winery. He experimented with grape varieties and champagne production, built grandiose cellars with a length of 3 km for him and made a splash in Paris. The champagne factory is still operating. And a village surrounded by greenery has grown up nearby, which attracts tourists looking for silence.
Infrastructure of the Novy Svet The most necessary items are sold in small shops and mini markets. Children's entertainment includes simple rides and trampolines on the embankment. Adults can rent boats and yachts for fishing in the open sea and cooking the catch on the grill. There is no stormy night entertainment. The village quiets down after 10 pm. A minibus runs to the nearest Pike perch with a more active life every 15-25 minutes, and you can return by taxi late at night. There are cafes, canteens and restaurants in the small village, which are mainly located near the coast. You can stay for a rest in guest houses, hotels and the private sector — all residents rent accommodation to tourists.
