Perhaps it’s a popular place to visit because the Irish are so friendly. The Irish people enjoy talking and they love having parties. They are famous for their sense of fun. In the 16th century when Henry VIII was unable to divorce under the Catholic church, he created the Protestant church of England. 7… They fought with Henry’s armies. However, Henry won. They had to join the Church of England and give Henry their land. Elizabeth I(Henry’s daughter) sent 170000 Protestant settlers from Britain and they built new towns in Northern Ireland.

In 1916 the Irish Republican Army (IRA) started. 8… They were Catholic. They took terrorist action against the British soldiers in Ireland. In 1920 the British government had to give Ireland its independence but only the southern part due to the large number of Protestants in the north who wanted to remain part of Britain.

The violence stopped for a while. However, discrimination against Catholics in the north caused the IRA to start again in the late 1960s. In the 1970s the IRA started bombing in England.

In 1994 the IRA and Protestants terrorists agreed to stop fighting and talk. On April 10th 1998 they signed an agreement to create Northern Ireland’s first multi-party assembly. 9… Sometimes they even involve children, for example, recently, Protestants tried to stop Catholic children from walking through their neighborhood on their way to school.

This incident inspired the famous song by U2, Sunday Bloody Sunday.

They wanted independence from the British government.

It is a popular place to visit.

Unfortunately, new companies don’t pay attention to ecology.

Many famous bands came from Ireland.

That’s why Ireland sometimes called the Emerald Isle.

Ireland is a beautiful country with hills, lakes and rivers.

Irish Catholics disagreed with Henry’s actions.

However, there are still problems and violence.

This has created lots of jobs.

This is the reason people don’t like Irish weather.
