You were a soldier
(Is devoted to my father - a soldier of World War2)
You were a soldier, my father.
The day of victory will gather
Those who’d fought for peaceful skies,
For bread, for me, for happy lives.
In May a holiday salute is there
And silence minute. We must care
War veterans. They haven’t seen
Great victory in gold and green.
My dad, I promise, I remember
To be Slavonic land’s defender.
My duty is and hard and long
To be one honest, brave and strong.
My heart is crying, soul’s sad,
I wish you live. But I am glad
To see my country not in war,
The sun is shining. What’s more?
