ОТЗЫВ. ВПЕЧАТЛЕНИЯ

Пояснительная записка.

Студентам было дано задание – поделиться впечатлениями после просмотра американского художественного фильма «Урок окончен» на английском языке в рамках заседания киноклуба A-LISTERS (Звезды первой величины): Write some information about your impressions. What do you think about the teacher and his student Lucas? (75 - 90 words). Напишите о своих впечатлениях. Что вы думаете об учителе и его ученике Лукасе

(75-90 слов).

«Урок окончен» (англ. Dismissed) — триллер режиссёра Брайана Маколи.

Школьный учитель литературы и руководитель шахматного кружка мистер Батлер пребывает в восторге от того, что в его школу перевёлся отличник Лукас Уорд. Новенький ученик имеет высшие оценки по всем предметам, и к тому же он обожает литературу. Однако уже вскоре выясняется, что он имеет отличное от преподавателя мнение на одно из произведений. Мистер Батлер не соглашается с его выводами в эссе и ставит четвёрку с плюсом. Теперь учителю предстоит узнать, что Лукас отлично разбирается не только в школьных предметах, но и умеет манипулировать людьми.

MY IMPRESSIONS AND THOUGHTS

The beginning of the film was very good. There was a family, a chance with job in a more prestigious place and a student who loves his subject - English literature. But then there was one wrong move and big consequences. Frankly, I don't understand Mr. Butler's teacher's grading system a bit. Every student sees a story differently. Lucas, in addition to writing his opinion, also wrote in great volume. However, Mr. Butler graded the student's creativity really unfairly. By giving a grade of 5, not only would Mr. Butler not have ruined his and someone else's life, but he would have given the student a chance at a brighter future.

Of course, that doesn't exonerate Lucas. But from what I understand, he had psychological problems. Maybe it had something to do with his mother. Since his father even perfectly understood his son's condition, he ended up killing himself out of desperation. I felt very sorry for Lucas's father.

Still, it seemed to me that to some extent Lucas knew what he was doing, but his internal unstable emotional state was much stronger. He had a very scary look in his eyes every time something didn't go according to his plan.

It was clearly shown how Lucas taught emotion, that is, it was made clear that Lucas does not know what emotion is. This too plays a big role.

In the whole story, there was pity for Mr. Butler's wife, Luca's classmate, the chess club classmate, the biology teacher and Lucas's dad. Essentially they suffered because of Mr. Butler's mistake and the psychologically unstable Lucas.

It was also very strange when Mr. Butler put 2 on the report card. He took the wrong path. Yes, Lucas threatened him. But Mr. Butler could have chosen a different way to solve the problem. To avoid the consequences, give Lucas a chance. Mr. Butler had only Mr. Butler to blame for his wife's death.

People are different. For some people grades do play an important role. Maybe grades are the future of a person. Therefore everything can happen in life. Parents can scold for bad grades, because of bad grades a student cannot enter a higher education institution and thus deprive themselves of the future. It happens in life. And this applies not only to studies, but also to other aspects. It is important to understand and, in order not to aggravate the situation, to try to make a meeting.

The film made a stronger impression on me and allowed me to look at some things differently. It also gave me some experience, some advice to say the least. I would also like to mention how cool Dylan Sprouse played his character. It was creepy to watch him.
