Zoos are institutions that house animals of various species in order to provide them for public viewing, education and entertainment. They provide an opportunity for people to see animals that might not be available under normal conditions, and to study their behavior, physiology and biology. Let's look at the reasons why a zoo is cruelty to animals.
The lack of space in zoos is one of the key reasons why many supporters are calling for a ban on zoos. This aspect implies that in zoos, animals are given too limited space for normal life and natural behavior. No pool with cold water will replace the polar bear's natural habitat.
Stress and Illness: Lack of space and movement restrictions can cause stress and illness in animals. They cannot exhibit their natural behavioral traits, which can lead to mental and physical problems. The constant screams of enthusiastic people, finger pointing and tapping on the glass of the enclosure are undoubtedly stressful for any animal.
Uncomfortable conditions: In zoos, animals can be in uncomfortable climatic conditions, for example, in cold or heat, which can affect their health and comfort.
Poor nutrition and insufficient veterinary care are serious problems that are often accompanied by keeping animals in zoos and are one of the reasons why some supporters are calling for a ban on zoos.
Medical effects: In some cases, medications that can suppress or alter animal behavior are used to ensure the safety of visitors and the manageability of animals.
Training and training: In some zoos, animals are taught various tricks and training to entertain visitors. This may require the use of training methods that can be stressful and harmful to animals.
