Правила чтения открытого и закрытого слога в английском языке.

Перед тем, как мы начнем разбираться, что такое открытый и закрытый слог, хотелось бы сразу предупредить — в английском языке правила чтения имеют столько исключений, что лучше просто запомнить чтение как можно большего количества слов, а остальные читать по аналогии.

В английском языке, так же как и в русском, слова делятся на слоги. Очень часто для того чтобы правильно прочитать гласную букву в слоге, необходимо определить тип слога — открытый или закрытый слог.

Возьмем обычное русское слово «книга» поделим его на слоги: КНИ-ГА. Оба слога оканчиваются на гласный звук, значит, оба слога ОТКРЫТЫЕ.

Возьмем слово «капкан», поделим на слоги: КАП-КАН. В данном примере оба слога заканчиваются на согласный звук, значит, оба ЗАКРЫТЫЕ.

Но определить слог английского слога не так просто как в русском. Типичное английское слово содержит 2, максимум 3 слога, так что  слог найти не сложно.

Если взять слово name (змея), то можно подумать, что в нем 2 слога, но все мы знаем, что читается это [neim], то есть слог один. Чтобы разобраться подробнее, см. вклейку в тетрадь!

Закрытый слог

Это слог, в котором после гласной стоит одна или несколько согласных букв (кроме буквы r). Гласная буква в закрытом слоге передаёт краткий звук.

Например: bed, cat, vest, stop, cat, jug, egg, center, ink.

Открытый слог

Если в слоге после гласной нет согласной.

Например: go, no, my, hi, he.

Если после гласной буквы сразу же стоит «е» на конце слова

Например: pie, lie, toe, blue, bye, dye.

 Если согласная буква есть, но после нее сразу же следует «немая» гласная буква «е», которая не читается.

Например: name, snake, take, these, time, music, pupil, type.

После ударной гласной — согласная+le

Например: table, noble.

Запомните!!! Как гласные (в алфавите) называются, так они в открытом слоге и читаются!

Существуют сочетания букв (буквосочетания), которые дают 1 звук :

ck - дают звук [ k ] (к)chiсk ( чик)

chдают звук [ ʧ ] (ч) cheese (чиз)

shдают звук [ ʃ ] (мягкий ш) fish ( фиш)

phдают звук [ f ] (ф) dolphin ( долфин)

thдают звук [ ɵ ] (поместите кончик языка между зубами и произнесите звук с) в конце слова bath (бас), в начале знаменательных слов thumb (сам) и звук [ ð ] (поместите кончик языка между зубами и произнесите звук з) между гласными, в начале местоимений, служебных слов this ( зис)

eeдают звук [ i: ] ( долгий звук и (как в русском слове имя)) green ( грин)

ooдают [ u ] (краткий звук у) good ( гуд) и [ u: ] (долгий звук у (как в слове ужас) kangaroo (кенгэру)), но: в словах floor, door зают звук [о ]

a перед llдает звук [о] tall ( тол)

e - в конце слова не читается name ( нэйм)

kне произносится перед буквой n : knife ( найф)

Екатерина Васильевна, а знаки транскрипции уже не изучаются? Жуткое впечатление производит запись произношения русскими словами. И так много повторений - это по числу учеников?

Транскрипция на русском языке - это для родителей, которые английский не изучали. Сделано по их просьбе. Для домашнего контроля и повторения. И для слабых детей. Кроме того, коллеги, которые работали по Spotlight, знакомы с его недостатками, в т.ч. и транскрипционными. На своих уроках транскрипции обучаю, независимо от учебника, будь то Rainbow, Enjoy English, Spotlight, etc. Повторения - да, по количеству детей для удобства в распечатке. По опыту, после 3-4 Модулей подсказки уже не нужны.

Только родители, не изучавшие английский язык, и своих детей начинают учить по русской транскрипции, и подсказки им писать в тетрадях и учебниках русской транскрипцией. Дети быстро привыкают. А переучить их к английской транскрипции в среднем звене очень сложно.

Ведутся. Это как раз список для них. Время на записывание слов в словарики на уроке не тратим. Это работа дома. На уроке есть опоры в тетради и на доске.

Понимаю возмущение коллег. Но опыт работы в слабых классах, АООП, с детьми из очень неблагополучных семей показывает, что даже таким спорным материалом можно и нужно пользоваться.
