Russia is a country with a rich cultural heritage, and its holidays are an important part of our lives.
Unity Day is an important holiday celebrated annually on November 4 in Russia. It is dedicated to a historical event known as National Unity Day. This day serves as a reminder of the strength and resilience of the Russian people at various times in history. This holiday has been celebrated relatively recently, since 2005. The date was not chosen by chance: on November 4, 1612, the people's militia led by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky stormed Kitay-gorod, liberating Moscow from the Polish invaders. To liberate the country, a people's militia was assembled, which they led.
This day also marks the Orthodox holiday: Day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.
A holiday is also time spent with family and loved ones.
I also celebrated this holiday with my family. We set the table, made a delicious dinner. We sat and talked. We remembered historical events.
In the evening, my friends and I attended a concert of a famous rapper.
He started the concert by congratulating everyone on the holiday. The concert was very fun. We had a wonderful and positive time. We took a break from the daily hustle and bustle and changed the scenery. I think that such moments are very important. When you spend time with friends and it's a holiday.
The government gives us a day to rest so that in our daily lives we can stop and think about our loved ones, about the future of our country.
Now in Russia, National Unity Day is becoming more and more popular. After all, pride in one's homeland, its past and present, and faith in its happy future are what invariably unite people and make them one nation.
