History The building of the Moscow Armory was built in 1851 according to the project of architect Konstantin Ton. In the 14th century, the collection of the Armory began to form as a private treasury of the great Moscow princes and tsars. Along with the growth of the territories of the Russian state, the treasury also increased. By 1484, it was decided to build a separate building for the storage of objects.

What's inside the armory The Armoury Chamber preserves ancient state regalia, ceremonial royal clothes and coronation dresses, vestments of Russian Orthodox Church hierarchs, the most extensive collection of gold- and silverware made by Russian craftsmen, West European artistic silver, ceremonial arms and armour, carriages and horse ceremonial harness.

The importance of the armory The importance of the Armory for Russia lies in the fact that it is the center of not only the military but also the cultural heritage of the country. It can also attract tourists and strengthen the image of the country.
