It`s Fun to Be a Baker

When Baker Bob was a little boy, he wanted to be a baker. He loved when his mother made cakes and pies. He knew that when he grew up, he wanted to do that too. His dream came true. He had his own bakery, Bob's Bakery. Every morning he baked fresh bread, pies and cakes. 
One day Baker Bob's little boy, Christopher, was old enough to come and work with him at the bakery. “Christopher, when you grow up, you can be a baker too. We can work together making muffins and cakes. Would you like that?”
“It always smells so sweet in here. But, I don't think I want to be a baker when I grow up.”
“What?” His father got angry. “Why don't you want to be a baker? It's wonderful and you can eat all the cakes you want.”
“I think I want to be a florist. I love flowers. I love the way they smell and look,” Christopher said.
Baker Bob didn't know what to say or do. He had always dreamed that his son taking over the business. He thought about it for a long time. One day he went into his son's bedroom. “Christopher, I think it is a good idea for you to become a florist. If that's what you want to do, then I'm happy too.”
Christopher grew up and bought his very first flower shop. He sold roses, daisies and daffodils. One day he brought some flowers over to his father's bakery. “Dad, Mrs. Grant says that it`s popular now to make cakes with real flowers on them. Should we give it a try?”
Baker Bob smiled. “That sounds like a good idea.”
Every day he made a few wedding cakes and birthday cakes. His son, Christopher, the florist, brought fresh flowers. They spent time together decorating the cakes. Baker Bob's cakes were the most beautiful cakes in the whole city.
“I have you to thank, son, for that wonderful idea. Now we are working together, just like I wanted.” Baker Bob smiled at his son.
“I enjoy it too, Dad. Your baked goods and my flowers make a great team.”Baker Bob and Christopher couldn't be happier. Both of them enjoyed doing what they wanted and spent time together as father and son.
