Ход урока.
1.Introduction.
T.The topic of our lesson is ,, Why do people
travel? During our lesson we will speak about
travelling. You know that our life is
impossible without travelling. Many people like
to travel. There are express trains, huge ships cars,
air liners, all of which provide us with comfort
and security. I think that travelling is a very en-
joyable thing for us and I enjoy all kinds of tra-
velling very much.At the end of our lesson I want
you to tell me why people travel. Now let’s watch the . video film.
2.Warming-up.
T: 1.Do you like this film?
2.What is this film about?
3.Do you want to visit London?
4.How can we travel?
5.Can it be dangerous?
6.Who do you prefer to travel with?
7.What do you want to visit?
T: You see different means of travelling. Some of them were used many years ago. It was in the last century. Tra-
velling with help of camels maybe is used now in some
countries, where much sand and climate is very hot. And
you see balloons with air. They were used before planes
had been build.
How did the means of travelling develop?
3.Lexical activities.
T: When you are going abroad you need some important
things. You need them, when you leave your own country
for some period of time.
What do these words mean?

4.Speaking.
T:Travelling cost good money. Let’s discuss how to travel
at a lower cost. Everybody wants to visit different count-
ries, but they don’t have enough money. Suggest your
ideas, which seem to be the most realistic. These bubbles
will help you.
Review the ideas.( Pupils work in small groups.)
T: Imagine that you are going to have a week long trip.
Let’s form two groups. The first group is a Packed Tour
Tourist. And the second group would rather go on it’s own.
The first group will argue for the second group. They are
Tourist on Their Own. And then the second group will argue for the first group. On screen you see some argu-
ments. It’ll help you. I give you some minutes to be ready.
5.Dialogical speech.
T:It’s high time for conversations. You will work in
pairs and then you’ll act your conversations.
6.Reading for detail.
T: There are several screened versions of the tragedy of
the Titanic. Have you seen any of them? Look at the pic-
tures of the story about the Titanic. Arrange the sentances
in your texts in the right order to match the story.

7.Crossword.
T: You see the word ,, tourist’’ vertically. Think over and
write the other words. All the words are connected with
travelling.
