Now, tell me please do you like watching films or cartoons? Look at the screen. What do you see?

Who are they? Do you know them? Can we say that they are famous? So it’s the theme of our lesson “Famous People ”.Can you tell me the name of the film? Have you got your favorite person?

Today we’ll read, speak and write a profile about famous people from the film «Harry Potter».

First of all let’s remember the words which we need to describe the famous people. You see them at the blackboard.

Let’s name and repeat them after me.

Now lets play the game, I give you cards with the character from the film «Harry Potter» and yoy should describe him or her using a construction on the board, without naming him or her. The others should guess which character you have chosen.

Very good job! Now let’s try to guess my character.

He is a boy, who became a magician 11 years later. He has green eyes, a black hair and a thin body. He has been wearing glasses since his childhood.

His parents died in the battle with the greatest evil magician Voldemort. After this awful tragedy he lived in a house of his aunt and uncle, and their son Dadley. His relatives were cruel to him making him do all the housework.

He went to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the train he met Ronald Weasley, freckled, tall, red and thin boy, who lived in a seven-story house with five brothers, parents and a little sister.

J.K. Rowling is the pen name she uses as a writer. The J is for Joanne, her real first name, but she prefers to be called Jo. Rowling was born Joanne Rowling on July 31, 1965, in Yate, England. A graduate of the University of Exeter, Rowling moved to Portugal in 1990 to teach English. The idea for the books about Harry Potter occurred to her while she was traveling on a train from Manchester to London in 1990.

The word "Philosopher" in the book’s original title was changed to "Sorcerer" for its publication in America.

The book was the start of a seven-book series chronicling the life of the young wizard Harry Potter and his motley band of cohorts at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The second book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, came out in July 1998.

The third book in Rowling's series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, hit shelves in July 1999.

The phenomenal response to Rowling's books culminated in July 2000, when the fourth volume in the series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, became the fastest-selling book in 24 hours ever.

After a postponed release date, the fifth installment, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, hit bookstores in June 2003.

The sixth installment, released in July 2005, sold 6.9 million copies in the United States in its first 24 hours. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was the biggest opening in publishing history.

Prior to its July 2007 release, the seventh and final installment in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was the largest ever pre-ordered book at Barnes & Noble and Borders bookstores.
