Lesson stage/time Aim Procedure
Warm-up 5/5 to motivate Ss at the beginning of the lesson Let's play a guessing game. Ss take cards with words on them. The words are from the previous topic. Ss try to explain the words to the class or mime if they find it hard to explain. T sticks the words which have been explained/mimed onto the board.
Lead-in 8/13 to engage the Ss Look at the board. What do they have in common? Right, they are connected with art. Ss answers the questions in pairs and T gets feedback. Are you interested in art? What kind of art? Which of them can you call visual arts? What role do arts play in your life? Where do you go to enjoy art? What arts are the most popular now? Do you think TV is an art?
Pre-teaching the vocab 7/20 to make the listening less difficult Before listening take the cards. Match the words with their definitions. Do it individually. You've got 5 min. Look at the slide and check yourself. You've got 2 min.
Listening 1 and feedback 4/24 to develop listening skills This is Carol and This is David. Listen to them and answer the questions. Where did Carol go? Did she like it there?
Listening 2 and feedback 9/33 to develop listening skills Listen to them again and do choose the best option. Read the task first. You've got 1 min. Listen. Do the task individually. You've got 3 min. Compare the answers with you partner. Look at the slide and check your answers.
Speaking and feedback 10/43 to develop speaking skills (a dialogue) Ss choose an abstract picture and tell their partners what they see. The parters should ask why-questions to clarify.T monitors the class and asks one or two pairs to get the feedback.
