Today we are going to talk about the Middle ages, a period in history that lasted for 1000 years. (Show a time line on the blackboard).

What are the Middle ages The Middle ages also called or the dark ages. Life was difficult and sometimes dangerous. There were wars and diseases and sometimes people died of hunger because there was nothing to eat. Today we are going to take a tour in a castle. Who lived and worked there? And how did they defend their castle against enemies?
Goals of the lesson are:
• Communication: improving listening and speaking skills,
• Revision of basic grammar material (Past Simple Tense)
• Vocabulary revision of Module 7 and vocabulary built up,
• Meta: improving knowledge of history (Life in a medieval castle)
Some words you already know from Module Starlight 4 (revision). (Let pupils translate the words themselves)
