Урок- путешествие  по теме “A trip to the United States of America”

Цель: формирование ключевых языковых компетенций обучающихся

Контроль страноведческих знаний учащихся

развитие мотивационной основы к дальнейшему овладению иностранным языком

повышение интереса обучающихся к изучению иностранного языка через применение ИКТ

Образовательные:

активизировать изученную ранее лексику и полученные страноведческие знания по теме “Соединённые Штаты Америки”

отрабатывать навыки аудирования, говорения, чтения, письма

формировать развитие навыков устной неподготовленной речи.

Развивающие:

способствовать развитию интеллектуальной, эмоциональной и мотивационной сферы личности учащихся;

развивать познавательную активность учащихся;

развивать внимание, воображение и логику.

Воспитательные:

формировать у учащихся страноведческий интерес и коммуникативную иноязычную культуру

формировать мотивацию к изучению иностранного языка

формировать социальную компетентность.

формировать навыки самостоятельной, парной и групповой работы

Предлагаемый урок составлен для обобщения изученного материала по теме: «Соединённые Штаты Америки». Урок - путешествие позволяет систематизировать полученные знания, активизировать их в речи, а также создать непринужденную атмосферу общения на английском языке. В работе принимают участие 2 команды.

 

Ход урока

Организационный момент:

Teacher: Good morning, my dear boys and girls! I’m glad to see you! Today we have an unusual lesson. Look at the proverb, please.

“The best journeys are not always in straight lines.”

Фонетическая зарядка: Учитель показывает картинки с английскими звуками, дети повторяют слова с этими звуками (из этой пословицы). Let’s pronounce some sounds and read this proverb. Let’s translate it. How do you understand it?

Постановка цели: So, what are we going to speak about today?

(Ответы детей)

We are going on a trip, to one of the biggest countries in the world. Let’s guess the name of this country. Look at the pictures and say what country is associated with these places. We’ll also have some obstacles to overcome during our trip.

Pupils: This country is called the United States of America.

Речевая зарядка: Is it a big country? Who are the Native Americans? Do you like travelling ? Would you like to go to the USA? What places would you like to visit there? Why?

T: During our trip we can see not only the sights of this country but we have an opportunity to remember everything that we have already learnt.

You are divided into 2 groups. Your task will be “to get” to the USA as fast as it’s possible. So, who will get more points will be the winner.

So, look at the blackboard, there is a route there. What’s more, you’ll get a piece of puzzle for every task and then your task is to collect them to get the picture which is connected with this country. So, let’s begin our adventures.

Please take the 1st card where you can find the 1st task. “Places of Interests”

The 1st task is to collect the puzzles and write the names of these places. Приложение 1

(Учащиеся собирают пазлы и пишут названия достопримечательностей Америки.)

T: Well done! Let’s go on.

T: The second task is to answer the questions. It’s called “Geographical names” (Приложение 2)

(Учащиеся заполняют таблицу с пропущенными названиями, отвечают на вопросы)

3 What is the biggest city in the USA?

4 What is the longest river in the USA?

5 What are the highest mountains of the USA?

6 What is the biggest state of the USA?

T: Good for you!

T: Next task (3) is to find the mistakes in these facts and correct them. It’s called “Facts about the USA” and for the leaders of the teams there is another task. Your task is to choose the names of states and write them down (Учащиеся выполняют задание, а в это время капитаны команд выполняют индивидуальное задание) (Приложение 3)

3 You can walk to the Statue of Liberty.

4 The English gave the Statue of Liberty to Americans as a present.

5 Manhattan is an American city.

6 The capital of the USA stands on the Colorado River.

7 Death Valley is the coldest place in the USA.

The 4th task of our trip is to look at the screen, remember the names of these holidays and agree or disagree with me. “Holidays” (Приложение 4)

(Учащиеся слушают утверждения, которые говорит учитель относительно праздников и должны поднять карточки с согласием или несогласием (лайк или дизлайк). Участники обеих команд должны поднять карточки одновременно).
