Japan Сentenarians at Record High
The number of Japanese people hitting the landmark age of 100 has (0)reached
record levels.
There are now 36,276 centenarians in the country - a rise of 4,000 on last year's
figure, a report (1) the Health and Welfare Ministry found.

Japan's oldest woman is 113 and lives on the southern island (14) Okinawa, the
ministry said.
The oldest man is 112-year-old Tomoji Tanabe from the southern prefecture of
Miyazaki. He rises early, reads his morning newspaper, has milk in the

Matsu Yamazaki is 103 years old but still works in her family's grocery shop in
Tokyo, looks (16) her home and (17) puzzles to (18) her mind agile.
"Even if I go on living, I just don't want to lose my mind," she told the BBC in
July.

Most annoying phrases used by children revealed in poll
“I’m bored“, “Why?” and “Are we nearly there (0) yet?” have topped a list of phrases used (1) children that most (2) their parents. A study carried (3) among 3,000 families also revealed “It’s not fair”, “Do I have to?” and “It wasn’t me” are sure to (4) mothers and fathers mad. Spokeswoman Emma Elsworthy said: “Despite being adorable 99 per cent of the time, our children do have the ability to be really annoying sometimes, especially when they (8) absolutely everything.

A parent’s life would be made so much easier if the kids always did as they were told, rather than questioning why or how, but it would also be far more (12).
Half of the UK’s parents agreed the words “I’m bored” filled them with dread, as they’re usually followed by hours of whingeing and moaning.
And the study – which revealed the top 20 most annoying things kids say – showed 37 per cent of mums and dads can’t (13) to hear “Why?”
Despite (14) a coherent and factual answer to most of their child’s questions, the word is often repeated (15) again. And “Are we nearly there yet?” is a bugbear parents can look (16) to hearing on any car journey which exceeds 10 minutes. “It’s not fair!” is an expression which will crop (17) time and time again for 30 per cent of (18) parents. And the classic “Do I have to?” when asked anything from ‘please tidy up your toys’ to ‘eat your dinner’ is the fifth most annoying thing uttered by a child.
Emma Elsworthy added: “There is no doubt that (19) children is a challenge from day one, but any parent who can put up with being on the receiving end of up to 20 questions or retorts a day without snapping can afford to give themselves a good pat on the back.”
