Цель: познакомить с традициями празднования Рождества в странах изучаемого языка
Задачи: развивать произносительные навыки диалогической речи, навыки аудирования и чтения с полным пониманием и письма, познакомить с традициями празднования Рождества в странах изучаемого языка, развивать языковые догадки и воображения, творческое мышление, память, развивать навыки работы с текстом, умение выделять основную информацию из прослушанного и прочитанного об основных рождественских традициях в Великобритании, повышать интерес к изучению английского языка, воспитывать культуру языкового общения, уважительного отношения друг к другу, умение внимательно слушать собеседника.

Christmas
Americans celebrate Christmas on December 25. Christmas is a religious holiday and one of the happiest holidays of the year because it is the day that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. We prepare for Christmas weeks before. We buy gifts for our family and friends. People buy and send Christmas cards with the message "Merry Christmas!" We choose a tree and decorate it with ornaments and lights. And we prepare special foods and cookies. The typical meal consists of turkey with potatoes and other vegetables such as carrots and sprouts (брюссельская капуста). This is followed by Christmas pudding - a sweet pudding Christmas is also the day that Santa Claus visits us and brings us presents in bright paper and ribbons. He delivers them on Christmas Eve, the night before Christmas, when we are sleeping. How: does he get into our house? He climbs down the chimney and leaves the presents under the Christmas tree or m a Christmas stocking. There is a tradition that children should put a long sock called a Christmas stocking at the end of their bed or by the chimney. So Santa Claus will fill it with presents: tangerines, nuts sweets. In the morning, we open out presents together and then we go to church. People wish each other "Merry Christmas!"
