Вспомните! Past Continuous употребляется для выражения длительного действия (процесса), протекавшего в определенный период времени в прошлом. from … till — с … до… all day – весь день the whole evening – целый вечер

чем отличаются союзы when и while. Союз while подчеркивает длительность и глагол после него ставится в Continuous, в то время как when подчеркивает факт, и глагол после него ставится в Simple.
