I want to start our lesson with a very beautiful song “What a Wonderful World”. (Ученики смотрят видео)

What are the main words in this song? (What a Wonderful World)
Does it seem beautiful to you?

But is it always beautiful in reality? Why?
So, today we are going to speak about environmental problems and we will try to find the ways of their solution. I want to formulate it as “The future of our planet is in our hands”

So, today the aim of our lesson is to learn more about environmental problems, to speak about them and to find the ways of their solution.
2. Phonetic drill. (Фонетическая зарядка)
A) You see some Russian words on the blackboard. Find their English equivalents. (На доске учащиеся должны найти перевод для некоторых русских слов и соединить их)
English words: Environment, pollution, wild animals, nature, ecological problems, to protect, to reuse, forest fires, to cut down, litter, recycling, to save, danger, wastes
Russian words: экологические проблемы, природа, дикие животные, использовать еще раз, загрязнение, окружающая среда, отходы, лесные пожары, защищать, мусор, вырубать, спасать, опасность, переработка.
B) А game. “A Snowball”
3.Listening.
Аудирование. Учащиеся прослушивают песню Луи Армстронга “What a wonderful world”, в которой имеются пропуски и заполняют их. После прослушивания песни осуществляется контроль понимания.

4. Do we have ecological problems in our school?
And what about Ryazan and Varskye?
Look at this list of ecological problems and say which of them are typical of
our school
our village
- Litter after lessons in the classrooms, because pupils drop paper on the floor.
- A lot of litter in the streets.
- A lot of dust in the classrooms and corridors, because pupils run there.
- A lot of cars.
- People pollute lakes and rivers.
- Not enough plants in the hall, pupils spoil (break) them.
- People cut down trees to build new houses.
- Factories pollute the atmosphere.
- Forest fires.
- Pupils don’t bring a second pair of shoes.

Have you ever heard about Greenpeace? What is it?
Text.
“Greenpeace” is an international environmental organization. It was founded in 1969 by a group of Canadian ecologists. Members of “Greenpeace” appear
in places where the environment is damaged. They want to protect plants and animals, fight against water and air pollution. “Greenpeace” has offices in many countries of the world including Russia. We usually call “Greenpeace” members as “greens”.
T- And now you are going to do the task:
Listen to the statements. Are they true or false? Correct the false ones.
“Greenpeace” is a political organization. -
“Greenpeace” was founded by the English Queen. -
We usually call “Greenpeace” members as “red”.-
The aim of the “ greens” is protection of the environment.+
Members of “Greenpeace” want to save plants and animals.+
8. Работа в группах (Проектная работа)
Now let’s think how can you solve the ecological problems? I will divide you into 3 groups: school Greenpeace, town Greenpeace and international Greenpeace. Each group should choose right statements for their Greenpeace organizations and make a poster with them.

Leave your classrooms clean after lessons.
Arrange wild parks all over the world.
Don’t put chemical wastes into the oceans and seas
Water the flowers in the classrooms and in the hall.
Close factories which pollute the atmosphere in our town
Don’t throw rubbish in classrooms and in school corridors.
Don’t cut down forests.
Don’t harm plants.
Bring a second pairs of shoes with you.
Build more recycling centers
Don’t throw the litter on the beaches
Take care of endangered animals and birds
Plant more flowers and trees in the city/village
Don’t run along the corridors and in the classrooms.
Don’t build many roads in the city.
9 Рефлексия. (желтые и зеленые листочки)
Thank you, children. Now it is time to make a tree. I want you to use the tree leaf and write a promise. Read your promises.
Ex.: I promise to be sorry for homeless animals.
I promise to take my litter with me.
I promise not to drop litter in the street.
I promise to turn water off.
Now, please, come to the blackboard and stick your green or yellow leaf to this tree.
