Тема: News Stories.

Обучающие цели: Освоить во всех видах речевой деятельности новые лексические единицы по теме. Научиться вести разговор о различных средствах массовой информации. Освоить распознавание и употребление в речи структур Past Continuous.

Развивающие цели: Развивать коммуникативные универсальные учебные действия (УУД) через все виды речевой деятельности. Развивать умения составляющие лингвистическую компетенцию (языковую догадку).

Воспитательные цели: Воспитывать информационную культуру, уважение к разным вкусам и точкам зрения. Способствовать осознанию возможностей самореализации средствами иностранного языка.

Оборудование: Учебник Spotlight 7класс, аудиозапись для работы в классе, раздаточный материал, задания на доске, проектор, экран.

Тип урока: Урок усвоения новых знаний.



Ход урока.

Greeting. Оргмомент.

T: Good morning, children. How are you? Are you ready to work? What is the date today? What is the day of the week today?

The theme and the aim of the lesson. Постановка цели и задачи. Мотивация учебной деятельности.

T: I’ve got a newspaper. It’s our local newspaper «Донецк Вечерний». You can see different newspapers and magazines on my table. Boys and girls, do you read newspapers or magazines?

P1: No, I don’t. I prefer surfing the Net.

P2: Yes, I do. I sometimes read interesting articles. My Dad is keen on political events. We have got a lot of newspapers at home.

T: What types of mass media do you usually use to get some information?

P3: I usually use the Net.

P4: As for me I prefer my phone.

P5: I listen to the radio before school because my grandpa does it every morning.

T: So, today we are going to speak about news and different types of media where we can find news. The theme of our lesson is “News Stories”. You can see it on the blackboard. And we are going to develop the skills of using the Past Continuous Tense.

Vocabulary Practice. Актуализация знаний.

T: Children, look at the blackboard. You can see new words on the blackboard. We are going to read, repeat, translate and train them.

Ex. 2, p. 36. What does each type of media provide us with? Choose any type of media you like and answer this question using the words on the blackboard.

Examples:

P1: The TV provides us with local, national, international news, interviews, weather reports, documentaries, music, chat shows, advertisements.

P2: Newspapers and magazines provide us with interesting articles, TV guides, horoscopes, fashion and beauty advise, celebrity gossip.

P3: The radio… .

Reading. Развитие умения прогнозировать содержание текста по заголовку. Развитие навыков чтения и понимания прочитанного.

T: Where could you see these texts?

P1: We could see text A on a web site.

P2: We could see texts B and C in a newspaper.

P3: I could see D on a mobile phone.

Listening and Reading. Учащиеся слушают и читают тексты упр. 3, стр. 36. После этого проводим парную и групповую работу.

Pair work.

P1: Which text is about a brave pet?

P2: I think it’s text C.

P1: Which text is about a beast and a brave man?

P2: I’m sure text B is.

Group work. Explain the words in bold. Each group receives cards with the bold words and their explanations. The pupils match them.

Speaking. Развитие навыков устной речи с опорой на тезисы.

На слайде четыре колонки (слайд №1)

Учащиеся работают в тетрадях. Первый текст выполняем задание вместе с классом. Остальные тексты учащиеся делают самостоятельно и пересказывают их с опорой на тезисы.

What: She found a hungry two-year-old brown bear eating her porridge.

Talk

Paula Green, a woman from Vancouver, came home from work one day and found a hungry two-year-old brown bear in her kitchen. The bear was eating her porridge.

Grammar. The Past Continuous Tense.

Развивать навыки распознавания глаголов в Past Continuous. Учить, как образуется и когда употребляется Past Continuous.

Изучить таблицу упр. 5, стр. 37. На доске формула образования и употребления времени.

Forming Using

was a) в определенный момент в прошлом;

+ V ing b) действие в развитии, прерванное

were другим действием в прошлом.

Развитие навыков распознавания глаголов в Past Continuous в тексте. Найти в текстах

A-D примеры Рast Сontinuous.

Example: Text A: was eating. Text B: were hiding. Text C: was recovering.

Text D: was playing.

Для развития навыков употребления в речи глаголов в Рast Сontinuous выполняем

упр. 6 на стр. 37.

T: Use the ideas to ask and answer questions about the people in pictures

1-5.

Task 1: Look at the pictures and say what the people were doing at 6 o’clock yesterday afternoon.

P1: John was reading a text message.

P2: Sue was watching TV.

Task 2: Pair work. Ask and answer questions, use the example in ex. 6.

После короткой тренировки каждая пара представляет свою работу классу.

Упр.7 на стр. 37 помогает использовать полученные новые знания в беседе о личном опыте. Учащиеся работают группами по четыре человека.

Leader: I was at home at 12.30 p.m.

P1: Were you playing computer games?

Leader: No, I wasn’t.

P2: Were you surfing the Net?

Leader: No, I wasn’t.

P3: What were you doing?

Leader: I was helping my mum, I was cleaning the flat.

Учитель контролирует работу групп.

Writing (a news story). Write a news story about something important in your area last week. Here is an example. ( слайд №2)

A News Story

Last Saturday, the pupils of our school visited the wounded soldiers at the hospital. We live in Donetsk, DPR. A lot of our men are fighting at the front now. Some of them are suffered from the war and they are at the hospital.

We decided to cheer up our defenders. We organized and presented a small concert for them. Our best singers and dancers performed their songs and dances. The girls of our school and our mothers cooked different sweets, cookies, pies.

The soldiers were glad to see us and we were happy to encourage our defenders.



Lesson summary: Reflection of the material, pupils’ marks.



Homework: Write a news story, ex. 8, p. 37.
