Тема урока: The School Uniform

Тип урока: комбинированный

Цели урока:

Основной целью урока является формирование коммуникативной компетенции учащегося посредством образовательной, воспитательной и развивающей целей.

Задачи:

- закрепление лексического материала и формирование навыков его использования в рамках изучаемой темы;

- совершенствование навыков логического мышления.

Оснащение урока:

Учебник английского языка для 8 класса Английский язык. VIII класс Афанасьевой О.В., 2018 г., компьютер, плакат с нарисованным кроссвордом.

Формы работы с классом: фронтальная, индивидуальная, групповая.

Языковой материал: knot, tie, tailcoat, waistcoat, straw hat, brim, band, stud, collar, slit, laces, braces, sleeve, buttonhole, to get dressed, to take someone ages, to shriek with laughter, to put the lid on sth, jet-black, brand-new, to lose one’s nerve, to take (no) notice (of), an extremely long time.

Структура урока:

1. Организационный момент (1 мин.)
2. Фонетическая зарядка (2 мин.)
3. Контроль выполнения домашнего задания (17 мин.)
4. Совершенствование речевых навыков (18 мин.)
5.  Подведение итогов урока, сообщение оценок и объяснение домашнего задания (2 мин.)
6.  Резерв урока

 

Ход урока:

1.      Организационный момент

Good morning. How are you today? How do you like the weather? What date is it today? Today we are going to have a talk about the school uniform in the UK and in our country.

 

2. Фонетическая зарядка

Please, tell what you see. In English

Для фонетической зарядки учитель включает презентацию. На слайдах изображены элементы школьной формы. Ученики должны ответить по-английски, что они видят.

Изображены следующие вещи:

knot, tie (галстук, галстук-бабочка),

tailcoat (фрак),

waistcoat (жилет),

straw hat (соломенная шляпа),

band (тесьма (лента) на шляпе,

stud (запонка),

braces (подтяжки),

sleeve (рукав),

laces (шнурки)

collar (воротник).

 

Далее учащиеся разгадывают кроссворд, посвященный школьной форме.

The next our task is a crossword.

Across (по-горизонтали):

2. Wide-brimmed, made of straw, with a blue and black band (hat).
3. Buttoned to the trousers, could be fixed to the correct length (braces).

6. Black with thin grey lines running down (trousers).

7. Looking like a tailcoat made of a heavy material, with one button (jacket).

Vertical (по-вертикали):

1. Black, brand-new, had laces (shoes).

4. Detachable, starched stiff with slits (collar).

5. Black, with 12 buttons down the front and the pockets on both sides (waistcoat).

6. Black, tied with an ordinary knot (tie).

 

In what cases can we use these words? What do you think is the topic of the lesson?

3. Контроль выполнения домашнего задания.

Ученики повторяют заданную на дом лексику. Учитель по-английски говорит слова и выражения, синонимы которых нужно найти в тексте.

 

Today we’ll discuss the text about the school uniform at pages 124-126. It was your home task for last lesson. Please, look through this text. Later we repeat some words and phrases from this text.

 

Now you need to find in the text the synonyms of the phrases I’ll call.

 

An extremely long time – to take someone ages

Coal black – jet-black

The last drop – to put the lid on sth

Lost one’s courage – to lose one’s nerve

Absolutely new – brand-new

To laugh hysterically and loudly – to shriek with laughter

He didn’t notice me – to take no notice of

Put on – to get dressed

 

Потом учащиеся отвечают на вопросы по тексту:

Please, answer the following questions. Remember: you need to use words and phrases from the text.

1. Why did the boy choose Repton School but not Marlborough School? (It was an easier word to say than Marlborough).
2. Where did the boy’s family live? (in Kent). How far was it from his new school? (Repton was up in the Midlands, near Derby, and some 140 miles away to the north).
3. Who took the boy to the shop to buy his uniform? (His mother). Where did they go to buy it? (They went to London).
4. Why did the boy have to chew the slits of the collar? (Because the collar was starched so stiff that he couldn’t get the studs through the slits).
5. Did he have to chew the buttonholes of his waistcoat too? (No, he didn’t).
6. What kind of clothes was he used to? (A pair of shorts and a blazer).
7. Who shrieked with laughter when the boy appeared in his new outfit? (His sister).
8. How did the boy’s mother comment on the tastes of Englishmen? (She said that in England men loved to wear uniforms and eccentric clothes).
9. Why could the boy consider himself lucky in her opinion? (He didn’t live in the 19th century where he would have worn even more eccentric clothes and a wig).

 

4. Совершенствование речевых навыков

Учащиеся высказывают свое мнение насчет школьной формы. Затем делятся на 2 группы и описывают форму своей мечты, при этом они получают карточки с необходимой лексикой. На мониторе появляется слайд с изображением школьной формы разных стран.

 

Please, fall into two groups. Now you’ll get the sheets of papers with elements of clothes. You have to stick them on the Whatman thereby getting the school uniform of your dreams. After that you need to describe it using vocabulary from these cards.  You have 10 minutes. In the screen you can see kinds of the school uniform in different countries.
