Урок по английскому языку на тему «British holidays - New Year and Halloween»

Тема: British holidays - New Year and Halloween.

Данный урок является звеном в цикле уроков по теме «Праздники в Британии». На предыдущих уроках дети уже знакомились с названиями праздников, определяли, какие из них являются религиозными, государственными , народными и т. д., беседовали о двух религиозных праздниках: Рождестве и Пасхе. Данный урок посвящён Новому году и Хэллоуину.

Презентация к уроку дублирует задания, выполняемые учащимися на листах бумаги. При этом на слайдах открываются ответы для самопроверки (слова, иллюстрации), что соответствует основным принципам современного урока по ФГОС второго поколения.

Цель: Познакомиться с традициями празднования Нового года и Хэллоуина в Великобритании.

Задачи: 1. Тренировка лексики в условно-речевых и речевых упражнениях.

2. Чтение с полным пониманием , беседа на основе полученной информации в текстах.

3. Актуализация грамматических знаний: Вопросительные слова. Употребление относительных местоимений в придаточных определительных предложениях. Употребление предлогов.

Оснащение: листы с заданиями и текстами, проектор, компьютер, экран.

 

Организационный этап.

1. Приветствие учителя.

2. Определение темы урока.

Ученики вспоминают, какие праздники они обсуждали на предыдущих уроках (религиозные праздники Пасха и Хэллоуин); определяют, о каких праздниках они только упоминали.

У: Remember what holidays we discussed last lesson (public and religious holidays). What holidays we haven`t discussed yet (New Year and Halloween).

Основная часть.

1. Знакомство с праздником Новый год.

1.1. Определение темы первой части урока, целеполагание и планирование деятельности.

а) Ученики делают предположения. Сначала появляется тема первой части урока, затем с помощью картинок раскрывается значение слов на слайде 2.

У: We are continue to read and to speak about British holidays. Try to guess what we will speak about for today lesson. What holiday do these words associated with?

1.2. Слайд 3. Ученики отвечают на вопрос, готовы ли они рассказать о праздновании Нового года в Великобритании. Совместно с учителем дети определяют, что они должны сделать на уроке, чтобы рассказать об этом празднике. Учитель записывает на доске план деятельности: to learn new words, to read information about New Year holiday in Great Britain.

1.3. Введение и тренировка ЛЕ. Выполнение задания 1 из Приложения 1 (Match to make word combinations)

Форма работы: парная

Самопроверка: с помощью ответов на слайде 4.

1.4. Чтение с полным пониманием (Приложение 1, упр. 2). Заполнение пропусков с использованием новых слов и словосочетаний из предыдущего упражнения.

Форма работы: парная, индивидуальная.

1.5. Выполнение послетекстовых заданий .

2. Знакомство с праздником Хэллоуин.

1.1. Тренировка относительных местоимений. Актуализация знаний о празднике. Ответы на вопросы учителя по образцу с употреблением относительных местоимений.

1.2. Слайд 16. Ученики отвечают на вопрос, могут ли они рассказать о празднике Хэллоуин. Вместе с учителем дети определяют, что они должны сделать, чтобы рассказать об этом празднике.

Halloween means «holly evening», and takes place on 31st October. Halloween began more than 2 000 years ago among the Celtic people of Britain and France. This festival celebrates the return of the souls of the dead who come back to visit places where they lived.

In the evening there are a lot of Halloween parties.

People dress up as witches, ghosts, devils, cats and bats.

Some children follow the American custom «Trick or treat» They dress in white sheets, knock on doors at Halloween and ask if you would like a «trick or treat». If you give them some money or some sweets, a «treat», they go away. If not, they play a «trick» on you, such as making a lot of noise or splashing water in your face!

One of the Halloween’s symbols is a lantern made of pumpkin. People cut horrible faces in pumpkins and put a candle inside, which shines through the eyes. They decorate their houses with them.

No Halloween party is complete without a scary story. Usually people crowd together around a fire on Halloween night. And one person tells a scary story in a low voice.
