Making a film is a complicated process. Most films start as an idea. Wherever it comes from a writer or a director, there is the producer who needs convincing. The producer is the businessman who finds the money to make the film. He will then organize the budget and decide how much it is worth spending on the film.

The producer will decide who is going to be responsible for making the film. It’s the director, the person who will be in charge of the whole cast and crew. Most importantly, the producer wants someone he can trust to do a great job and to stay under budget.

The producer and director will then choose the other people to work on the film. The audience expects from the film a great casting and the film has to have the right one. Actors usually become associated with a particular kind of film and it can be a risk to cast an actor in a different kind of role.

While the actors are developing their characters, the director will be making other decisions such as location. Where the film is shot is very important and the locations for filming will be chosen carefully. Special effects will be planned and costumes will be designed.

The actual shooting can take from a few weeks to a year, or possibly even more. The actors spend a lot of time waiting for the set, the lighting, the cameras – and it can be a real problem. Life on a film set can be boring and stressful.

When filming is over, post-production begins. This is the stage where all the elements of the film are brought together. The film is edited so that it tells a clear story and any special effects and music are perfect. Often, the film is shown to small audiences and changes are made, depending on their reactions. Finally, the film makes its way into the cinemas.

Yuri Gagarin

The first cosmonaut of the planet, Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin, was born on March 9, 1934, in the village of Klushino, Smolensk region. His parents, Aleksey Ivanovich and Anna Timofeyevna Gagarin, were peasants. In addition to Yuri, there were three more children in the family: Valentin, Boris and Zoya.

In 1941, Yuri Gagarin went to first grade, but his studies were interrupted by the war. The village of Klushino was captured by the Nazis, and he had to forget about studying.

In 1943, the village of Klushino was liberated. After the end of the war, the Gagarin family moved to the city of Gzhatsk, where Yuri was able to start studying again.

The future cosmonaut was a capable student, interested in music, photography, and loved to read. At the same time, Yuri began to play basketball and even became the team captain.

During his studies, Gagarin fell in love with the sky.

While studying at the flying club, he completed 196 flights on the Yak-18 aircraft.

After graduating from the flying club, Yuri Gagarin was sent to the First Chkalov Higher Aviation School of Pilots.

On April 12, 1961, a historic flight took place. The Vostok-1 spacecraft with cosmonaut Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin on board took off from the Soviet Baikonur Cosmodrome. His call sign was "Kedr". The flight lasted 108 minutes.

After the flight, Yuri Gagarin was awarded the Order of Lenin and the titles Hero of the Soviet Union and USSR Pilot-Cosmonaut.

A month after returning from space, the first cosmonaut went on a tour with the "Peace Mission". In two years, he visited more than 20 countries, and was enthusiastically received by people everywhere. Gagarin met with kings and presidents, politicians, scientists, musicians, and artists.

On March 27, 1968, Gagarin and instructor Vladimir Seregin were on a training flight. There was an air crash, the plane crashed. Both pilots died.

Urns with their ashes were buried in the Kremlin wall. The exact causes and circumstances of the crash have not yet been established.

Since 1962, April 12 has been celebrated in our country as Cosmonautics Day.
