Цель: Научить делать радиопередачу. Задачи: познакомить с функциями радио, командой радиостанции и их обязанностями, разработать план передачи.

Hello, everybody! My name is Alexander Romanovich and I am your teacher for today.

So, I want to start with a simple question. [PP slide 2] Do you know this word? (cat). And what about this one? It`s “cat”, but the letters are scrambled. Let`s try with some more words.

So you get the point. Now let’s organize a small competition and find out which group is the fastest one. Each of the group gets the list of words to unscramble. The winner is the fastest group!

(when the task is done) We have a winner. Now every person one by one, to read out loud all the answers. (reading the answers) What topic are all these words related to? It’s media.

Media means communication. So now we are going to watch a short video about the history of media, the history of communication. Try to notice some types of media in this video.

You’ve seen the video, what types of media can you name now?

Types of media

Newspapers, Internet, magazines, TV, radio

Which one is the most popular nowadays? Why do you think so?

Which one is the least popular today?

Why? Do you listen to radio? Where do you do it? What is your favourite radio channel?

Though radio is not so common now, don’t you think it can still be useful and interesting?

Work in groups and discuss: what’s good about radio? What pluses does it have? Why do we need it?

The groups are presenting their ideas on turn, getting points for each correct answer.

So, now we know something about the team of a radio station. Would you like to have your own radio station in your school? Imagine that your school have a radio station and you are the team, Who would you like to be? Discuss and decide who will be the DJ, the producer etc. You can have 2 DJs or journalists.

The roles in your teams are distributed, but before you make your own radio programme, we need some examples. So we are going to listen to an extract of a radio programme.

Let’s revise all that we learnt today. What do the radio stations do? Who are there in a radio team? You have teams. You have an approximate plan of a radio programme. Your task for next Tuesday – create your own radio programme. Producers, you are the bosses – control, organize and help your team. DJs – you are the voices of your teams. Journalists – try to find some interesting news about your school and city. Technicians – use your skills to create a programme so we can listen to it. Is the task clear? Thank you for your work, goodbye!
