Приветствие:
Good morning boys and girls!
Today we are going to have an unusual lesson.
You’ll get acquainted with a famous English writer Charlotte Bronte and the novel “Jane Eyre” which made her famous:
you’ll get acquainted with British classical literature
you’ll see the piece from the film “Jane Eyre”
you’ll have some practice in listening
you’ll do some exercises to consolidate new knowledge

Well, as I have already told you “Jane Eyre” is the novel that made Charlotte Bronte famous and it’s autobiographical. In this novel she described her life in a charity school. Now you’ll see the piece from the film “Jane Eyre”. Watch the film attentively because after watching you’ll do task №3 (Multiple choice)

So, you’ve watched the passage about life in Lowood school. After finishing school Jane became a teacher and she went to Thornfield Hall to work as a governess. Mrs. Fairfax, a housekeeper, met her warmly. Now you’ll hear a conversation between Mrs. Fairfax and Jane, when they met for the first time.

As you have already learned the owner of Thornfield Hall was Mr. Rochester who was often away. He had a ward Adele Varens, who needed a governess. So Jane Eyre happened to be in their house. One day Mr. Rochester came to Thornfield Hall and left there. And one night a fire happened in the house. Now you’ll hear how Jane described that night. Listen very carefully, while listening do task №4 (Complete the gaps).

Well, days passed and Mr. Rochester and Jane fell in love with each other. But the marriage was impossible because Mr. Rochester was married to a mad woman, who made the fire. So Jane left him. It happened so that Jane had a rich uncle, and after his death she got a lot of money and became a rich woman. By this time the second fire had happened in Thornfield Hall and as a result Mr. Rochester became blind and his wife died. Jane came back to Mr. Rochester and promised not to leave him anymore.
So, now boys and girls your task will be to make up a summary of the whole story. Put the sentences into the correct order.
Домашнее задание.
Task №6 (writing). Look at the pictures and the notes. Write Jane’s story about the fire.
