Ход урока

Student 1- Hellas is the mother of the arts, for which it praises.

From the Greek lands it came to us.

From the fable many were fed, but hardly

They grabbed the whole literature.

From now on, fiction is a free country.

Not all captured by the poets its.

Certainly! All know that today we will speak about fables. But what are fables?

Student 2- Fables are simple, traditional tales with a moral or lesson. In the fables we find the moral: Why? What does it want to teach us?

Student 1- A fable starts in the middle of the story that means jumps into the main event without detailed introduction of characters. The characters of a fable may be people, gods, animals or even lifeless objects. Characters are usually animals who behaved as humans. They often have special qualities. The fox is usually cunning, the mouse is frail and the lion is powerful.

We want to tell about Aesop’s fables.  Do you know who Aesop was?

Student 2- Aesop lived many hundred years ago in Greece. He wrote stories and fables, which are well-known all over world. We want to show you some Aesop’s fables.

The title of the first fable is “The tortoise and the hare”. Please, welcome.

The Hare and the Tortoise

Characters:

Hare (H)

Turtle (T)

Frog (F)

Squirrel (S)

Mouse (M)

H: Hello, forest people! Let's run a race with me! We shall run round the wood. What about you, frog? Will you run with me?

F: No, not I. I’m a good jumper. But I can't run so fast.

H: May be you, Squirrel?

S: Oh, no, you run faster than me.

H: What about you, mouse?

M: Oh, no, I can't run with you.

H: Ha-ha-ha! You don’t want to run because you know that I’m the best runner in the wood!

T: I'd like to run with you.

H: Who tells it? Turtle? With your short feet and big shell, you are the slowest animal I have ever seen!

T: Let's start the race.

H: All right. (to the public) What a silly tortoise! I run much faster than she does.

F, S, M: Ready! Steady! Go!

(The hare and the tortoise start running; the tortoise falls behind.)

H: (looks back) Where is that slow tortoise? I can't even see her. But it's very hot today. I think I can have a little nap. (The hare lies down and falls asleep; the tortoise passes him.)

H: (wakes up) What's the time? Oh, I'm late! I must run very-very fast!

F, S, M: Hooray! Hooray! The tortoise is the first!

S: Congratulations, dear turtle. You have won the race!

H: (runs up) What's this? Who's the first?

T: It's me! I'm the first!

H: (to the public) But why, with my wonderful legs, I'm not the first?

Student 1- What is the moral of “The Tortoise And The Hare”? The story shows that speed alone does not necessarily lead to the goal. Consistency and patience are just as important for achieving one’s goals.

The next one is “The Cat and the Bird”

The Cat and the Bird

Characters:

Cat (C)

Bird (B)

C: Good morning, little bird! Come down the tree! We shall play!

B: Oh, no, Mr Cat, I'm afraid that you can eat me.

C: Have you heard the good news?

B: What news?

C: Very good news, my little Bird! All animals and birds are friends now. Come to me! Let's play together!

B: Oh, I didn't know that. But I like it here, high up in the tree. I can see a beautiful river and green fields. Now I can see a lot of dogs. They are running here.

C: Dogs? Did you say "dogs"? Goodbye, little bird. I must run away.

B: But why are you leaving, my dear friend? The dogs are our friends, too.

C: I think they haven't heard the news.

Student 2-  The moral of the story is, “Be wise and shun the quack.”

I am sure the next fable will remind you the fable of KrylovThe Ant and the Dragonfly”

The Ant and the Grasshopper

Characters:

Ant (A)

Grasshopper (G)

G: Hello, Ant! What a beautiful day! Listen to my song!

A: (carrying a heavy load) Oh, no, I'm very busy. I'm working.

G: Why are you working so hard?

A: I must make a house and gather food. When winter comes, I'll be warm and have something to eat.

G: Winter won't come soon.

A: We shall see. Goodbye, Grasshopper.

G: Goodbye.

(background: winter, snow)

G: Oh, please, Ant, help me! I'm cold, I have nothing to eat.

A: And what did you do in summer? Did you work?

G: Oh, no, I sang songs all day long.

A: Really? You sang, didn't you? Now go and dance!

Student 1- Fable is a wonderful way to teach people about morals and life lessons. They are stories that have been passed down over generations, trickling down to the present to deliver important lessons about life, nature, love, friendship, and being a good person.

Meet the next fableThe Lion and the Mouse”

The Lion and the Mouse

Персонажи: Лев (L), Мышь (M)

M: Squeak! Squeak!

L: Who's making that noise? (catches the mouse) Oh, it's a mouse!

M: Oh, Mr Lion, please, don't eat me! Let me go! Some day I may help you!

L: Ha-ha! Silly mouse! How can you help me? You are so little! All right, you may go.

M: Thank you, Mr Lion! Goodbye!

(the lion's leg is in the net. He can't get free.)

L: Help! Help! (the mouse runs to him)

M: What's the matter?

L: My leg is in the net. I can't get free.

M: I can help you.

L: Oh, Mouse, you are too little! You can't help me!

M: Yes, I can! I'll bite the net. (bites the net)

L: Now I can get my leg out!

M: You laughed at me, but, you see, sometimes a mouse can help a lion.

L: Now I understand it. Thank you very much!

Student 2- I hope that in the following stories you will not recognize yourself and your friends will always be reliable.

Two Friends and the Bear

Первый друг (1F)
Второй друг (2F)
Медведь (B) (роль без слов)
1F: Our village is still very far away.
2F: Let's walk through the wood. It's not so hot there.
1F: But in the wood we can meet a bear, and we haven't got a gun.
2F: We don't need a gun. Bears are cowardly animals. I can beat a bear with one hand! If the bear sees me, he will run away!
1F: All right, let's walk through the wood.
(a bear comes out)
2F: What's that? Oh, a bear! Help! Help! (runs away)
1F: What shall I do? I'll lie down and the bear will think I'm dead. (lies down, the bear sniffs him and goes away)
2F: What did the bear say to you?
1F: He said that someone who leaves his friend in need isn't a good man. He is a coward.

(Учитель подводит итог урока – литературного вечера) Weve talked quite a lot about fable. It’s very pleasant to see that all of you like it and know a lot about it. I think that all of you enjoyed the lesson. All our pupils have worked very well, you are so active and smart.
