Конспект открытого урока по английскому языку по теме «Using a Computer Network», 8 класс



Тема урока: «Using a Computer Network»

Учебник «Spotlight», Virginia Evans, 8 класс

Цель урока: Совершенствование знаний учащихся по теме «Using a Computer Network» через чтение, выполнение упражнений для закрепления и использования в устной речи.

 Задачи урока:

1.формировать продуктивные лексико-грамматические навыки по теме,

практиковать в выполнении упражнений 

2. научить учащихся глубокому восприятию смысловой информации текста;

3. тренировать учащихся в нахождении ключевых предложений;

4. научить учащихся находить определенную информацию в тексте и проверять ее разными способами

Обеспечение:

Компьютер, проектор, экран, презентация (Презентация), карточки оценивания (Evaluation card), видеофрагмент (Видеофайл), доступ к Интернету, наглядный материал для оформления доски (Полезные слова и фразы к уроку)

Ход урока

I. Начальный этап урока.

1. Приветствие.

T: Good morning, dear students! Good morning, dear guests! I’m glad to see you! How are you today?

S: I am fine (good, excellent, great, OK), thanks.

T: Turn to each other and smile, be positive and active, please.

2. Фонетическая и речевая зарядка.

T: Look at the slide of the presentation. What do you think we’re going to speak about today? What can you see here?

S: The theme of our lesson is using a computer network.

T: - Today we are going to speak about using a computer network. The purpose is what are the advantages and disadvantages of using a computer network.

T: Now let’s read the words of wisdom by Immanuel Kant. (slide 2)

   Discuss the following statement.

T: Repeat the words after me.

Ss repeat after the teacher.

T: Will you answer my questions: Do you use a computer, a laptop or a mobile phone? How often?

S: Yes, we use it and very often.

T: Which of the social networks do you use?

Ss own answers.

T: What websites do you use in your free time or for your studies?

Ss own answers.

II этап: Основная часть урока:

T: Well done. So, open your students’ books on page 118-119, exercise 1. Look at the pictures A, B, C, D, E (slides 4-8). Where are these people working? What are they using computers for?

Use your evaluation cards (task 1). Evaluation card 

S1: Picture A is of an office. People are using their computers to do their work.

S2: Picture B shows two people having a meeting somewhere. They might be in a meeting room or in a cafe. I think the man is using his computer to access some information.

S3: Picture C shows some teenagers at school. I think they are doing some school work or playing the game.

S4: Picture D shows some people in an internet cafe. They are probably checking their emails.

S5: Picture E shows someone beside a cash register. I think she is in the accounts office of a shop. She is using the computer to check the sales for the day.

T: Well done! Now exercise 2. Look at the diagram in the text on page 119. (slide 9). What is a computer network?

S: A computer network is a group of computers, software, and hardware that are all connected to help the users work together.

T: Let’s do ex.3 – match the words to their meanings below. I’m giving you two minutes to do the task. So the first meaning is information, what is the word? (slide 10)

T: Now I offer you to do the quiz. Match the pictures with the words.

T: Very good. So look at the glossary. Repeat the words after me and remember them to understand the text you will listen and read. (slide 12)

T: Listen to the text and answer the question. How are the words in ex. 3a related to a computer network?

S: The words are all things to consider when using a computer network.

T: Let’s read the text on page 119 and then do ex.4, true/false sentences. (slide 13). You have 3 minutes.

T: Good. So, in ex.5 find words in the text which have the similar meaning (follow the lines). You have 2 minutes. (slide 14)

T: Very good. Ex. 6. What should and shouldn’t you do when using a computer network? Tell the class. (slide 15)

III этап: Заключительный этап урока:

Teacher: When using a computer network you should be responsible and think about other users. You should use it only to help you with your studies and make sure you follow safety procedure to protect the network from computer viruses.

You should not share computer passwords, not should you overuse online connection time or printers. You should never use it for anything illegal, unethical or dishonest and you shouldn’t install any software without permission.

T: - Today we have tried to understand how to use a computer network, how it works.  I hope, you’ve learned much and were positive. So, now try to evaluate your work. Count your points in your cards. Look at the slide and say what you have done today during the lesson. I’m pleased with your work.
