Тип урока: урок обобщения и систематизации знаний с элементами введения лингвострановедческого компонента

Форма проведения урока: урок – конференция

Образовательные технологии используемые на уроке: игровые, информационно-коммуникационные, диалоговые, групповые, здоровьесберегающие, элементы исследовательской технологии

Методы и приемы: диалог, самостоятельная работа учащихся в группах, игровые задания, конкурсы, проблемные вопросы, исследовательские задания, дифференцированные задания.

Оборудование:  презентация (компьютер, проектор), маркерная доска, демонстрационные материалы, раздаточный материал, флаги Великобритании и США.

Цель урока: систематизировать знания учащихся по теме «На пересечении культур» с использованием ранее изученной лексики и грамматического материала.

Задачи урока:

Образовательные:

- обобщить знание лексического материала темы, продолжить формирование и развитие навыков монологической речи, расширить словарный запас;

- научить обсуждать проблемы в группе, комментировать услышанное и увиденное, высказывать собственную точку зрения;

- содействовать формированию у учащихся мультикультурного мышления.

Развивающие:

- развивать интерес к изучению предмета;

- развивать догадку на основе контекста и иллюстративной наглядности;

- развивать способности к распределению внимания, коммуникабельности, умению выражать своё отношение к темам затрагиваемым на уроке;

- развивать способности к словесному выражению услышанного и к самостоятельному труду.

Воспитательные:

- пробудить интерес к истории, традициям стран изучаемого языка;

- воспитывать уважительное отношения к собеседнику в процессе общения, толерантное и дружелюбное отношение к людям других национальностей.

Планируемые результаты:

Предметные:

Учащиеся смогут систематизировать полученные ранее знания по теме «На пересечении культур». Смогут применять изученный лексический материал в речи, воспринимать на слух иноязычную речь в предъявлении учителя, одноклассников, будут знать и уметь использовать варианты английского языка (британский и американский) в речи.

Метапредметные:

Познавательные УУД: способность ориентироваться на разнообразие способов решения задач; анализировать полученную информацию, способность к самостоятельной деятельности.

Личностные УУД: проявление познавательного интереса к изучению английского языка, определение иностранного языка, как вариативного средства международного общения между людьми; формирование адекватной позитивной самооценки, восприятия.

Регулятивные УУД: выполнение учебных действий в материализованной, громкоречевой и умственной форме.

Коммуникативные УУД: построение англоязычной речи в коммуникации с учителем и одноклассниками с учетом индивидуального потенциала учащихся.

Личностные:

Демонстрация коммуникативной компетентность, уважительное отношение к мнению другого человека, толерантное и дружелюбное отношение к людям других национальностей. Осознание значимости изучения английского языка в его вариациях.

1. Взаимные приветствия.

T – Good morning boys and girls! I’m glad to see you! Take your sits, please. Let’s begin our unusual lesson, which is going to be a conference.

2. Проверка внешнего состояния класса и готовность учеников к уроку; организация внимания и психологический настрой учеников на проведение урока. Речевая зарядка.

T - But at first, tell me what is the day today? (Today is Monday.) What is the date today? (Today is the 18th of November). What is the weather like today? (It’s nasty and rainy. It’s also rather cold) And how are you today? (We are fine). That’s great!

Учитель англ.яз. – Well, and now pay attention to the screen please and try to guess what we’re going to speak about.

T – So, what is this video clip about?

Ch – It’s about the difference between British and American language.

T - That’s right. And that’s why we are going to discuss some different aspects of British language and American language during our conference.

Деление на подгруппы. Вручение флагов.

T - So, today we’ve got the representatives of the UK. You are the British today. How are you? (We’re fine, thank you.) And we also have got the representatives of the USA. You are the Americans. How do you do? (We’re OK, thanks.)

Мотивация.

T – So, two countries have two cultures and the common language. Well, I’d like to know what is the topic of our today’s lesson in your opinion?

Ch – In my opinion, it’s… Crossing Cultures.

T – Great! “Crossing Cultures” (тема урока фиксируется на доске – демонстрационный плакат). Such a topic contains different aspects. Today we’re going to discuss one of them.

Постановка цели урока.

T – You have already studied the most part of unit 3 in your textbooks. Well, how do you think what difference of two cultures we are going to discuss?

Ch – To my mind, we will discuss the difference of using the language.

T - You’re right! Just look at the motto of our lesson:

T – So, what’s the main purpose of our lesson today?

Ch – I guess we should understand what is common and what is different in British English and American English.

Творческое применение и добывание знаний в новых ситуациях

T- Have you ever thought about the question if British English and American English are different languages or variants of the same?

Ch – The same. (They are different.)

T- Denis has got a task to search this question at home. So, what’s the result?

Denis – I have searched that the British and Americans speak the same language, but use it differently. Indeed, it can sometimes be misunderstandings between them, but this is no reason to believe that the British and American English are so different that we can’t understand each other. So, we speak the same language. 

T – Thank you. And now we’ve got the another question. What is the origin of British English? Alina has got such a task. Just tell as about it in a few words.

Alina – English comes from a mixture of different influences, including the old Anglo-Saxon language and French. It's also got a little bit of Norse, Greek and Latin in it. Traditionally scientists divide the origin of British English into 4 periods: Old English, Middle English, Early Modern English and Present day English (which we are speaking now).

T – Thank you. And now we’ve got one more question. What is the origin of American English then? And Dima has got such a task. Just tell as about it in brief.

Dima – English first entered in North America in the early 17th century. The first group of 120 people of colonists from Britain settled there. There are 3 periods of American English: The Colonial Period, the National Period and the International Period in which we live now. American English has influenced other varieties of English and other languages.

T- Thanks a lot for your research! Was it interesting to know?

Ch – Yes, it was.

T – Ok. And now it’s high time to practice and compare British and American English. Well, there are differences in…

Ch – Phonetics, vocabulary, spelling and grammar.

T – Well, the Americans and the British have got 4 packs of cards on the tables. Let’s start with phonetics. Open the first pack, please.

T – Discuss in groups and read the words all together, please. (демонстрация карточек со словами – команды по очереди зачитывают в своём варианте) The British – the Americans

Ch – …. (all together in groups)

T – Well done! Let’s continue with vocabulary. Open the second pack, please. Everybody should take a card with a word.

T – Look at the board and fill in the gaps. (учащиеся выходят к доске по очереди и крепят слова в линиях соответствия)

T – Great! You know the words. The third pack should be opened. It’s spelling.

T – Find and analyze the difference in groups. Let’s try to spell the words in both variants. (учащиеся выходят к доске парами – записывают слова под диктовку)

T – Excellent! We’ve got the last pack now. It’s high time to open it. So, what about grammar?

T – Translate the sentences from Russian into English. Guess what is the difference!

T – Let’s have a rest now. Well, you know that sometimes we can speak nothing but people will understand you. Let’s try to do it right now. You mustn’t speak. Imagine the situation and explain it by your body language and gesticulation. Well, stand up please.
