Основная часть.Развитие монологической речи.

P.1Russia, Russia

My land so lovely and so free

Russia, Russia

The fairest land a man can see!

When down the Volga I go sailing

And seagulls sail the sky above,

I hear the song of joy unfailing

To those green banks, the land I love.

Russia, Russia

My land so lovely and so free

Russia, Russia

The fairest land a man can see!

P.2The relevance of our project is to study and keep natural and cultural heritage of our small motherland. Because each person has a place on Earth where he or she spent their childhood. Whatever happens to people, their places of birth are remembered forever. The farther people are from them the dearer they are for people.

P.3There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And the sun burns crimson the bright,
And the moon-bird rests from his flight.
To cool in the peppermint wind

P.2 I am proud I live here and I’d like to share my pride with everyone. Trubchevskis one of the most ancient towns and cities in Russia aged over 1000 years. This town gave the name to the princes’ dynasty of Trubetskiye and has kept the charm of antiquity and uniqueness. Let’s have a walk in our park.

P.3Gorky park is a place where the spirit of the ancient singer-storyteller Boyan lives. They say : “All ways lead to Boyan”. And truly the monument to Boyan was erected in the centre of the park in 1975 by a well-known sculpture A.I. Kobilinets and was dedicated to 1000 anniversary of Trubchevsk. This monument became the symbol of the town and of the whole region.

To the both sides of the monument to Boyan there are bas-reliefs reflecting the stages of 1000-year history of Trubchevsk. They can attract everyone’s admiring look.

P.2 Let’s continue our walk about the park. Let’s turn left and follow a beautiful alley to the high manmade terrace. It is between two deep natural ravines. In the deepest past it was Sobornaya Mountain, it was a cradle of Trubchevsk. The incredible view to the Desna’s left bank opens here.

P.3 The next point of destination is Troitsky Cathedral. It is a family tomb, a family church and a palace of the princes. Troitsky Cathedral is a memorial book of the town history.

P.2 Under the Troitsky Cathedral there is an interesting cave where at the beginning of the XVI century the monk Nil lived. He lived there in secret until he was found by the local fishermen. But some time passed and Nil left Trubchevsk. From that time on in Trubchevsk and its region there exists a belief about healing water of the spring. Thanks to descendants this place is saved. 200 steps lead to the spring. The residents of Trubchevsk and it guests may come and plunge in the font in any time.

P.3 Now we go back to the park gates. At the entrance of the park there is the Preobrazhensky Cathedral. On the outer wall of this cathedral there is an inscription which says that the building was erected in 1640.

P.2 Somewhat farther behind the ancient western moat there is the Pokrovsky Cathedral. Its history is ancient as well. This cathedral was reconstructed several times. The first wooden church was built in this place in 1618. After 1646 the second wooden church appeared. The building got its modern look in 1860-ies when to the sides of the Cathedral two altars were joined. By all accounts the cathedrals of Trubchevskpark are the monuments making the ancient chronicle of the town.

P.3 The next point which we should pay our attention to is a picturesque beauty of our park. Trubchevsk is a place where one may feel the smell of leaves, hear soft whirr of streets, see the sun ray in the tree crown, become the part of the provincial leisury life. Our park is lovely in any season. And if you want to hear the sounds of the ancient history, listen carefully to the tree’s whisper and they will tell about the ancient battles at the Sobornaya Mountain, about Peter I having a rest in their shadow, about the Trubetskiye princes walking along the paths between them. In one word, Trubchevsk is one of the pearls of Russia! This town is worth visiting by everyone!

Teacher: Thank you for this unusual romantic review of our motherland. We are going to listen to our 2nd group about the USA.

P.4 Oh, beautiful for spacious skies,

For amber waves of grain,

For purple mountain majesties

Above the fruited plain!

America, America!

God shed his grace on thee

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining sea.

P.5 The American flag is often called «The Stars and Stripes». There are three colours on the flag of the United States - red, white, and blue. As there are fifty states in the United States, there are fifty stars on the American flag: one star for each state. The American flag has thirteen stripes. The stripes are red and write. The flag has seven red stripes and six white stripes. There is one stripe for each of the first thirteen colonies of the United States.

P.6The eagle became the official national symbol of the country in 1782. It has an olive branch (a symbol of peace) and arrows (symbols of strength). You can see the eagle on the back of a dollar bill.

P.5 One of the most famous symbols of the USA is the Statue of Liberty.

France gave the statue to America in 1884 as a symbol of friendship. The Statue is in New York on Liberty Island. It is one of the first things people see when they arrive in New York by sea.

P.6 One of the traditions from the Wild West is a cowboy clothes. As cowboys spent much time outdoors, they usually wore hats, boots and jeans. Hats protected their faces and eyes from the hot sun and boots made riding a horse easier. As for special clothes – strong trousers called jeans, a tailor Levi Strauss made them in the middle of the 19-th century in the city of San Francisco.

P.5The USA is most famous for «fast foods». The first fast food restaurants served hamburgers, but now they serve other kinds of food too. Inside there is often a «salad bar», where you can help yourself to as much salad as you want.

P.6Most American now have a light breakfast instead of the traditional eggs, bacon, toast, orange juice and coffee. But on weekends there is more time, and a large late breakfast or early lunch («brunch») is often eaten with family or friends.

Teacher:Thanks for your interesting stories about the USA. This presentation was also bright. What about Great Britain?

P.7 We’d like to draw your attention to one of the most ancient and picturesque parts of the UK – Scotland. The Scots are very proud of their rich history. Scotland has given the world a number of writers, painters, sculptors, poets and musicians. One of the most famous Scottish poems in the world - “My heart’s in the Highland” by Robert Burns who is the Scotland’s national poet. Every year on the 25th of January the festival Burn’s Night is celebrated in the country.

Scotland is the north part of Great Britain. Five million people live in Scotland. Edinburgh is its capital

P.9 There are two large cities here: Glasgow and Aberdeen.

Scotland is full of mountains and lakes called lochs. Loch Lomond is the largest and the most beautiful of all lochs in Scotland. The highest mountain is Ben Nevis. There are a lot of rivers. The sea cuts the mountains into parts. The best known is Loch Ness where some people think a large monster lives.

P.7 The Scottish flag is a white St. Andrew’s cross on a blue background. Saint Andrew was a disciple of Jesus.

Thistle is the national emblem of Scotland. This plant saved their land from foreign invaders, the Scottish soldiers were awakened by their shouts as their bare feet touched the thorns on the thistles in the field they were crossing.

P.9 A long time ago the Scots built many large churches beside the river. These churches were called Abbeys. The Scots built Melrose Abbey in 1136 but the English destroyed it in 1544. In the days of the Abbeys, the hills and farms were full of sheep and they still are.

P.7 Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and the third largest in the United Kingdom. Before 1750 Glasgow was a small town. It had a cathedral and a university but it was not a rich town.

P.9 After 1707 Scottish ships could go to the English colonies in America. Ships brought tobacco to Glasgow and took back Scottish goods.

P.7 Heavy industry began to develop. It used coal and iron from the Clyde valley. Glasgow became rich but very dirty

P.9 Glasgow is famous for football teams Rangers and Celtic. Most people in Glasgow are fans of one of teams.

P.7 When they play against each other, thousands of fans go to watch. Rangers and Celtic have won more football competitions in Scotland than all the other Scottish teams.

P.9 The main Scottish national dress is a kilt – pleated plaid skirt. Each clan has its own colour and pattern on the kilt. In old days the kilt was made of large amounts of material that could help to warm when it’s cold in the mountains. Scots mainly wear kilts to family events and important holidays.

P.7 The national instrument of Scotland is a bagpipe. It is made of sheep skin. A player feels a leather bag with air by blowing into it and allows the air to come through pipe.

P. 9 In the evenings the opera house, the cinemas and the concert halls are full. In cafes and pubs small groups sing, act, read poetry.

P.7 One of the most famous folk song of Scotland is “My Bonnie Lies over the Ocean” it is the song about Prince Charles Edward Stewart who was known as bonnie Prince Charlie because he was young and good-looking. He was also Scotland’s national hero who fought against the English in the 18th century but Charlie’s army was defeated.

P.10 Исполняет песню“My Bonnie Lies over the Ocean”
