Тип урока: урок комплексного применения знаний и умений (урок закрепления).

Цель урока: развитие умений составлять монолог-описание с элементами рассуждения по фотографии.

How much time do you spend on social networks? What popular social networks do you know? What’s the most popular social network in Russia? You are absolutely right. The most popular social network in Russia is “Vkontakte”.

I spend 4 hours on social networks. I know such popular networks as Instagram,

Facebook,

Snapсhat, Tik-Tok, Vkontakte.

Task 3.

Let’s have a brainstorm. Look at the picture (Смотреть рисунок 1). Try to guess what are the disadvantages of social networks? Name other disadvantages of social nets.

Choose the best ideas.

Task 3.

We can name some disadvantages of social networks. Firstly, people can become addicted to

them.

Secondly, if they spend too much time in social nets, the start ignoring their family, friends.

Thirdly, they spend too much time at home and lead passive way of life. To say more, they may have problems with their eyesight.




Now look at the photo

c. Add some linking words to your speech (I think, because, as for me, that’s why, I am sure, I believe) to express your point of view. Describe a picture to your partner.

Task 5. Now you are going to describe a photo (Смотреть рисунок 3), using a following plan. Some of you will do this task in a written form, others

will do it orally.

Who do you see in this photo?

What are these people doing? 3. Why do you think they enjoy using these social networks? 4. Why do you think social networks are so popular nowadays?

5. What is your attitude to social networks?

7. Do you prefer online communication or real communication?

Don’t forget to use linking words to make your speech logical.

You should speak for not less than 1,5 minutes or write 8-10 phrases.

Those who have finished their descriptions will do the following task.

Task 5. Now I’d like to describe a photo. In the picture we can see a group of young

people. They are surfing the net, using their devices. They are checking their Instagram,

WhatsApp,

Facebook and twitter accounts. Young people are watching movies on Netflix. I think they enjoy using these social networks because they can make up new friends and look up old ones. These young people also can share their interests in the knit-tights communities. Social networks are very popular nowadays: you can promote your brand, follow trends, add new photos, interact with your friends. I think even a shy person can express themselves in the social nets. I like using social nets as I can chat with my friends whenever I want to. As for me, real communication is better than an online one because i enjoy walking, playing and talking with my friends. Nothing can replace real communication.

That’s all I wanted to say.

Without the Internet there can’t be any social networks, platforms or websites. They are closely connected with each other. Write down social networks platforms, websites that you know to each letter of the word «Internet».

I have learnt how to describe a photo. Everything was interesting. It was difficult to use new vocabulary in the description of the picture.
