Задачи урока:
- расширение кругозора учащихся;

- развитие навыков построения высказывания на английском языке с опорой на план;
- формирование умения выражать собственное мнение по определенной теме;

Veliky Ustug
1. Veliky Ustug is a small town in the north-west of Russia. It is situated on the bank of the Sukhona River. The town was founded in 1147. It is as old as Moscow.
2. Veliky Ustug is a green town. It has a lot of trees and flowers. The Park of Culture and Rest is a very popular place with the citizens. Children enjoy roller skating and skateboarding there.
3. Veliky Ustug kept its beauty and history through centuries. It has a lot of churches, monasteries, cathedrals and old buildings. The unique place is Troitse-Gledensky monastery. It is on the other side of the river. It has very beautiful icons. The oldest church is the Church of Ascension which was built in 1648.
4. Now Veliky Ustug is famous as the hometown of Russian Father Frost who lives in a wonderful palace not far from the town. The fairy-tale character has his own Winter Garden, Zoo, Glacier and Forge. Children and their parents like to spend their time at Father Frost Ponds. They can go boating, fishing or have a picnic outdoors.
5. Many tourists visit Veliky Ustug every year and enjoy its places of interest.
